How to send

Money Services has made sending money for Mother’s Day simple. Visit your local Money Services to send money around the world or within the US. Follow our guide for sending money:

  • Search for your nearest Money Services with our helpful store locator.

  • Stop by and give the store associate the receiver’s name, their location, and the amount you want to send so the associate can set up the transfer.

  • Choose Ria or Western Union to deliver your money transfer.

  • Select cash pick-up or bank deposit delivery option.

  • Give the fee* and amount to be sent to the store associate either as cash or using a bank-issued debit card from the US. Present your valid photo ID, if required.

  • For Ria: The recipient will need the PIN and valid photo ID.

  • For Western Union: Let the receiver know the 10-digit Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) and to bring their photo ID so they can collect their Mother’s Day cash gift.

About the

The first official Mother’s Day in the United States was celebrated on May 10th 1908 in West Virginia, but the tradition dates back long before this. With links as far back as the ancient Greeks and Romans, Mother’s Day is a day to recognize motherhood and maternal bonds in general.
