How to send money to a bank account
Money Services has made sure that sending money is quick and easy. See our step-by-step guide on how you can send money to someone’s bank account using Money Services.
Find your local Money Services with our store locator.
Stop by and give the store associate the receiver’s name, their location, and the amount you want to send so the associate can set up the transfer.
Give the store associate your completed form and the money you’d like to send – don’t forget the cash to cover the fee.
Keep your receipt. The store associate will give you a receipt which will include the tracking number so you can check the status of your transaction.
Let your receiver know the tracking number (MTCN) so that they can also track the funds.
We have provided you with a helpful list of items you will need to bring with you to send money.
- The cash or card you wish to make the payment with
- The recipient’s bank account name, number and routing code
- The recipient’s full name and address, including ZIP code
- Your name and address, and a form of ID

Will I need a bank account?
At Money Services, we understand not everyone has a bank account – that’s why we’ve made it easy for you send money in cash. Depending on your receiver’s needs, they can pick up the cash or you can send it directly to their bank account.
If your receiver doesn’t have a bank account, you can send money for them to pick up at their nearest Money Services or a Western Union® agent location. Just make sure they bring along the tracking number (MTCN) and a form of ID.
We work with Western Union®, who can help you transfer money to over 200 countries. With 500,000 agent locations around the world, there might be one nearby your receiver.
