How to pick up money
It’s easy to pick up money at your local Money Services – just follow our simple step-by-step guide.
Bring your details. Ask the sender for the tracking number (MTCN) and bring it to your nearest Money Services, along with a government-issued ID.
Provide the store associate with the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) given to you by the sender and your ID.
Pick up your money. We typically pay out up to $2,000, and won’t charge you a fee.

How long does a money transfer take?
You can pick up money within a few minutes or a few working days. It depends on the sending method the sender has chosen, so check with them before visiting us to collect your money.
Track your money transfer with Western Union®
When you send cash with Money Services, the track transfer service at Western Union® lets you trace where your money is, when it’s arrived and when it’s collected. All you need is the tracking number (MTCN) given to the sender.
The MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) is unique to your money transfer with Western Union®. It is provided by the store associate with the sender’s receipt. It’s needed to track your transfer and for pick up.
If you have trouble getting your MTCN from the sender, or you have lost or forgotten your tracking number, you can still collect money. You should call Western Union® Customer Care at 1-800-325-6000.
