With Money Services, many billers provide a confirmation number as proof of payment. However, you will need to contact your biller to check when your payment has been credited to your account, as we don’t have access to this kind of information.

Using Money Services to pay your bills is reliable and hassle-free. Keep your receipt or confirmation number for your records in case you have any problems with your bill at a later date.

Speak to one of our friendly store associates if you have a question about paying your bill, but if it’s something we’re unable to help with, visit the provider’s website to find their direct contact details.

For some billers, we may be able to process payments for shut-off notices, but it all depends on your specific service provider. Your friendly Money Services team is here to help, and we can advise which providers we can do this for.

Just bring your bill stub, and we’ll do everything we can to help. If we can’t process it for you, and you’re not sure where to go next, contact your biller’s customer service team for more advice.

Don’t forget, you can pay a variety of household bills to thousands of local and national suppliers at your nearest Money Services. It’s a quick and reliable service, so you can have peace of mind your payments have been sent reliably.

No, they don’t. However, if you don’t use or cash the money order within a certain time limit – which could be one to three years – you might get a non-refundable service charge taken off the total amount. This depends on the rules in the state where the money order was purchased.

The terms and conditions of your money order are listed on the back of the order, so make sure you check any limits placed on yours to avoid paying a charge.

If your money order is subject to a non-refundable service charge, you won’t be able to present the order for payment after the specified time. Your order will come back to you unpaid and you’ll need to request a refund for the balance remaining.

To protect yourself from fraud, always think carefully about who you’re sending money to. Generally, you should only send money to friends and family you know and trust. Never send money to someone you’ve not met in person, or for an unconfirmed emergency.

At Money Services, we want to help you protect your money and details. We’d advise you not to proceed with a money transfer:

  • For a purchase you’ve already made online
  • For anti-virus protection software
  • To claim lottery or prize winnings
  • To pay your taxes
  • To donate to charity
  • To resolve an immigration matter
  • To pay for goods or services from someone who recently tried to sell you something over the phone

In many cases, we won’t be able to refund you if you’re the victim of a scam – so before you send money, make sure you know exactly where it’s going, and who the receiver is.

Money Services store associates aren’t able to access your bill account information, so if you want to check that your payment has arrived in your account, you’ll need to contact your biller direct.

You can be sure that any payment made through Money Services is reliable. Many billers provide a confirmation number as proof of payment, which you’ll need to keep a hold of in case you have any problems with your bill at a later date.

If you need to contact your biller once you’ve paid your bill through Money Services and don’t know where to start, visit your supplier’s website to find more details on how to get in touch with the right department.

The speed you can send payments varies by biller. Some bill payments paid at Money Services post on the same day you pay them, and arrive with your biller almost immediately. Others can take three business days. Check with us at Money Services for delivery options on your specific bill.

Generally, making a bill payment through Money Services is quicker than sending it in the mail. Plus, it’s much more reliable and many billers provide a confirmation number as proof of payment.

Depending on your specific service provider, we can also sometimes process payments for shut-off notices.

If you have any questions about how long it’ll take your payment to reach a particular biller, just ask your friendly Money Services store associates and they’ll be happy to help.

When sending money to be picked up as cash, the time it takes before the money can be received depends on a few things, including the country the money is being sent to, and which Western Union® service you have chosen. For example, the Money in Minutes* service allows you to send money to a loved one in Mexico, which the receiver can typically collect in just a few minutes. Western Union® also offers a Next Day* service.

As we work with Western Union®, you can send money to be picked up at over 500,000 agent locations around the world. The receiver will need to bring the tracking number (MTCN) and a current ID.

At your local Money Services we make it easy for your friends and family to pick up money. Depending on which country you’re sending money to, it’s possible for them to receive the money in various ways, including:

  • In person. They can visit their local Money Services or any participating Western Union® agent location to pick up money.
  • Directly into a qualifying bank account.

To collect the money in person, your receiver will need to bring:

  • A government-issued ID
  • The tracking number (MTCN)

At Money Services, picking up money you’ve been sent is easy. Simply stop by your local Money Services and one of our store associates will be happy to help. Alternatively, you can visit any participating Western Union® agent location.

You will need to bring some details, including the amount of money you’re expecting to collect and the tracking number (MTCN) which was provided to the sender and printed on their receipt. You will also need to provide a valid form of ID.

When you arrive at your nearest Money Services you will need to fill out a receiver form with your name, address and details of the sender. You can then pick up your money – we typically pay out up to $2,000 – with no fee.

Check cashing with Money Services is simple and hassle-free, and we can accept checks up to the value of up to $5,000. Fees* for cashing checks start at $3 with a Shopper’s Card, for checks up to $2,000. Fees* for checks between $2,000.01 and $5,000 start at $5.50 with a Shopper’s Card.

Fees vary by state, so be sure to verify the amount when you stop by.

There’s a number of convenient ways to reload your prepaid debit card in-store.

You can swipe your card to reload it at any checklane or Money Services. This service is available for a number of cards including our 1-2-3 REWARDS® prepaid card.

Alternatively, you can purchase a reload card, sold in-store, or reload with cash through Western Union® at Money Services. Our friendly store associates will be happy to help.
